Since posting our first promo, we've been told DWP is not ready to unveil its residential solar program.  If you want these advances, tell the rep at our meeting!!

with great interest to us all, Wayne will  discuss the process he and his wife Marsha started 3 years ago to refurbish their home and begin to go green. From solar panels, to energy efficient windows that lowered their overall energy costs to lifestyle changes that have had a significant impact on their day to day lives.

It is all about making an investment in your future, whether with little steps or big ones, it is all about how to GO GREEN NOW!

Two radio heroes will be honored in Encino this March, for linking thousands of area listeners to the Progressive Democratic values that helped Barack Obama win the Presidency. Lila Garrett of KPFK's Connect the Dots, and Air America Radio’s Hollywood Clout host - Richard Greene will receive the 2009 Badge of Courage Award, given yearly to outstanding citizens by Valley Democrats United (VDU).

VDU is the foremost Progressive Democratic Club in the San Fernando Valley, with over 100 members who help shape the political, cultural, financial and non-profit life of the Valley. Our purpose is to educate and activate Valley citizens in the local, state and national issues that affect their lives.

Our free public monthly meetings feature nationally and locally recognized authors, filmmakers, political leaders, and other experts. VDU publishes an eNewsletter, each month as well, which is distributed electronically to more than 1000 readers throughout and beyond Southern California.

We work to nurture the development of America’s future political activists and leaders. We do not endorse politicians or ballot measures but offer a forum to present all points of view and to foster open discussion.

The ticket price is set at $35 so that everyone in the community may attend.

Program Book

We are publishing a Program Book for the event that will be shared with attendees and others who live and work in the community. We invite you to join other elected officials, businesses, service providers and area groups by placing an ad in the Program.

This is our only major fundraising event of the year. The funds we raise will develop our Speakers Program and expand our public service work.
